THE PROBLEM
Starting in 2009, the State of Arizona cut capital funding to schools, totaling $25 million.
This resulted in having to use funds reserved for salaries and utilities to make high-priority repairs and delaying preventative maintenance.

PAST WORK
Thanks to the 2014 voter approved bond, students received:

- An ESS Facility at Alice Byrne Elementary
- A makerspace at Palmcroft Elementary
- A CTE Facility at Ron Watson Middle School

- Improve school entances to create a single point of entry on campus
- Renovate school offices to securely control the flow of visitors on campus
- Improve camera systems
- Repair aged perimeter fencing
- Upgrade windows to be suitable for safety coating
REVITALIZATION
Est. investment $14,400,000
- Convert traditional rooms with the most need into flexible, collaborative spaces
- Equip identified special needs programs with accessible facilities
- Repair middle-school athletic fields
- Install or repair playground structures
- Create dedicated sensory rooms for students with special needs
FUTURE-READY SPACES
Est. investment $31,800,000
- Create multipurpose spaces for creativity, collaboration, and STEM instruction
- Middle school campuses will have a robust science lab for hands-on exploration
- Provides spaces that promote skills towards career and workforce development
